Who we are

Cipherion, Inc. is a cybersecurity company in Dallas, Texas. We operate the Cipherion Gatekeeper DNS protection service and this website, cipherioninc.com.

Your lookups

Gatekeeper answers the DNS lookups your devices make and blocks known harmful sites. Our resolvers do not keep a log of the names your devices look up. We check this setting on both resolvers every 15 minutes. The exceptions are the safety alert described under Mobile Day Pass and, for some homes, the game-service names described under Activity. In addition, from 1 October 2026 until we stopped it on 8 October 2026, a diagnostic capture recorded the lookups of game services made from one home address. That file is set aside with access restricted to our security team, and we are deleting it.

Requests to the Mobile Day Pass, device setup and Gatekeeper Home pages, and the encrypted lookups a protected device sends us, are not written to our web server’s request log.

What we keep about your subscription

• Your email address and the name you give at checkout
• Your home’s public IP address, and the addresses you have used with us before, with the dates they changed
• Your plan, your content filter, and the dates you subscribed, changed your address or cancelled
• The billing city and state from checkout and, where Stripe provides it, your billing address
• Stripe’s customer and subscription identifiers for your account (never your card number; Stripe holds your card)
• A free-trial record (email, home address and subscription) so each home network and email address gets one free trial

Activity we keep for your home

• Counts of lookups and blocks for your home address over time, and statistics calculated from those counts to notice unusual activity. These power Gatekeeper Home and your weekly email.
• For gaming features: connection-quality measurements of your home address (we send it small test packets to measure response time and jitter), the times of gaming sessions and the platforms detected, and, for some homes, the names of up to ten game services seen.
• The device names, app controls and schedules you set in Gatekeeper Home, and any Rookie Mode combat record you paste in.

Mobile Day Pass and device protection

For a pass or a protected device we keep: the email address from checkout, an identifier for the passkey you create (your fingerprint or face never leaves your device), the device type, the pass’s counts of lookups and blocks, its filter setting and when it expires. For protected devices we also count lookups by category each day, such as AI assistants and social apps, and show those counts in our security console.

Safety alert. On a Mobile Day Pass, if the pass’s filter blocks an adult site, we record the site name, the pass and the time, and send it to our security team as a safety alert.

This website

• Google Analytics. We use Google Analytics to measure visits, which pages are read and how many visitors subscribe. It uses Google’s cookies.
• Two first-party cookies, gk_src and gk_land, remember for 30 days which campaign link brought you here and the page you landed on.
• At checkout we attach that campaign source and landing page, the referring page, your Google Analytics identifiers and your device type (phone, tablet or computer; operating system; browser) to the Stripe checkout. When a subscription or pass is bought, we tell Google Analytics with those identifiers, never with your name, email or address.
• Web server logs record your IP address, the page requested, the time and your browser, and are kept for 14 days for security and operations.

Contact form and email

When you write to us we keep what you send. If you use a contact form, that is your email, company, number of users, notes and the page you came from. We keep the messages you send to support@cipherioninc.com.

Aggregate statistics

We may use aggregate counts across all subscribers, such as total lookups and blocks by category for each resolver each day, in our research, our product decisions and our marketing. These counts never identify a home, a device or a person, and we do not publish a figure drawn from so few homes that it could point to one.

Who else sees it

We do not sell or rent your personal information. We share it only with the companies that run parts of the service for us:

• Stripe processes payments and receives your email, billing details and the home address attached to your checkout.
• Brevo sends our emails and receives your email address and the message.
• Google provides Google Analytics, as described above.
• Our hosting infrastructure provider runs the servers and stores the backups that hold these records.

We will also disclose information when the law requires it.

How long we keep it

We keep your subscription record after you cancel, so we can answer billing questions and apply the one-free-trial rule. Web server logs are kept for 14 days. Our application logs record account events, such as signups, address changes and failed payments, with the email and home address involved. Backups hold copies of these records. We have not yet set a fixed period for deleting application logs and safety alerts; you can ask us to delete yours. You can ask us to delete your data at any time (see below).

Your choices

• Ask for a copy of your data, or ask us to delete it, by emailing support@cipherioninc.com from the address you subscribed with.
• Cancel anytime from Stripe’s billing portal (Manage subscription in your Gatekeeper welcome or billing emails, or Billing & card in Gatekeeper Home).
• Block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Google offers an opt-out browser add-on for Google Analytics.

Children

Gatekeeper is bought by adults for their households. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Changes to this policy

When we change this policy we update the date at the top. We email subscribers about material changes.
